Eisen voor reanimatie en EHBO voor kinderopvang
First Aid & CPR Cuba
In Cuba, círculos infantiles fall under the Ministry of Education and are staffed by educators and assistants qualified in Early Childhood, alongside on-site nursing staff under the National Maternal-Child Health Programme. There is no specific norm requiring teaching staff to hold first-aid certification, since immediate health care rests with the centre's nursing team. Even so, training in first aid and pediatric CPR remains valuable preparation for anyone caring for young children.
Anafylaxie en medicatietoediening
Although círculos infantiles have on-site nursing, no published norm specifically addresses anaphylaxis or epinephrine storage, and Cuba does not market adrenaline auto-injectors — only prescription ampoules exist. A severe allergic reaction is therefore managed through the nursing staff and the health system, with the sound practice being to record each child's allergies and coordinate any prescribed medication with the family.
When a child is choking or a heart stops, the first minutes are decided by whoever is present, not by whoever arrives later. Training in first aid and pediatric CPR gives staff the calm and the technique to act safely, and it complements the work of the centre's nursing team. A recognized, standards-based certification turns that readiness into something tangible for the day it truly counts.
