In health care, maintaining high standards of care is essential to protect the public. For nursing staff, mastering CPR and first aid is an expected competency and, in care services, a facility requirement; for support staff, it is a valued skill. Here is what is expected for your role — and how recognized, up-to-date, documented training supports it.

In Cuba, nursing education and practice are organized through the Ministerio de Salud Pública (MINSAP), within a state system, with no professional college. As part of the duty of competence, nursing staff are expected to keep their skills current and be able to act in an emergency, which places basic life support and CPR among the expected competencies.
Professional updating is sustained through 'superación profesional': permanent, institutional development organized by the state (courses, training, diplomas). It is continuous in character rather than a formal periodic recertification tied to a licence.

The care market in Cuba is largely state-run (MINSAP): nursing auxiliaries are state-trained and community caregivers receive courses that include first aid. In this context, first aid and CPR are valued and expected skills; the role of a private standalone certificate, however, is poorly documented, and it cannot be claimed that on its own it qualifies for the role.
