In Cuba, elderly homes (hogares de ancianos) and day centres for seniors (casas de abuelos) — mostly state-run through the public health system — house vulnerable older adults. For residents' safety, these settings rely on state-trained nursing auxiliaries and caregivers whose preparation includes first aid.

急救要求
These settings are expected to ensure a rapid emergency response: staff able to provide first aid and CPR to older adults until medical help arrives. As the care market is largely state-run, nursing auxiliaries are state-trained and community caregivers receive courses that include first aid; the role of a private standalone certificate is poorly documented.
Where applicable, a recognized, up-to-date first-aid certificate complements staff's occupational preparation and must be renewed periodically; it does not replace the auxiliary's or caregiver's state training.
